Hello to DNIG members across Ontario.
You are cordially invited to a ‘hang out’ session next week, Wednesday October 21, 2020 at 7 p.m. with fellow members of DNIG as well as the executive as we explore the question “COVID 19: What has been the effect on your practice?” It will be a chance to catch up with other nurses working in or interested in the provision of excellent nursing care in diabetes in Ontario.
The hour will begin with brief presentations by the executive which will touch on the following topics
- pharmaceutical resources and supports available for clients living with diabetes
- documentation changes to consider during COVID-19
- wound care, impact of COVID-19 on provision of care and outcomes
- challenges of working away from office when working with clients in the community
- in patient challenges
- flu shots in the community
- impact of changes to the socio-economic environment—loss of income, food insecurity
If there are any topics, in particular, you would like to see covered or contribute to, please send in suggestions ahead of time and we will endeavour to save time for you to present during the session.
