BNLC Presents: Black Men in Nursing Webinar – Pursuing Higher Education

On Thursday, March 19, 2026, BNLC hosted the next webinar in its Black Men in Nursing series. The focus of this session was pursuing higher education.

Hosted by Communications ENO Dwight Barrett, with guest speakers Jason Burke, Jordan Acheampong, and Akim Edwards, this was an empowering discussion centered on advancing education and leadership pathways for Black men in nursing.

BNLC Presents: Black Maternal Health Webinar

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, BNLC hosted the Black Maternal Health Webinar. The session was hosted by Policy and Political ENO Donna Lawrence and Chair Lori Zozzolotto, with special guests Kamika Sylvester and Cheyenne Scarlett, co-founders of the Black Birth Project; Nurse Niema Duri, RN, founder of Postpartum Travel Nurses (PTN); and Sandria Bryce, RN, a certified nurse psychotherapist and CEO of IMOSO Psychotherapy.

This was a powerful and engaging webinar focused on Black women’s maternal health. Interest in the event was overwhelming, with registration reaching full capacity, and the discussion continued for an additional 30 minutes due to the high level of engagement.

RNAO’s 2026 Annual General Meeting 

RNAO’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in person on May 28–29, 2026 at the Hilton Toronto.

Last year’s theme was RNAO: 100 Years of Action and Impact. This year’s event will be another important opportunity for RNs, NPs, and nursing students to reflect on the association’s achievements and look ahead to opportunities to strengthen the nursing profession and make it a magnet for the next generation of nurses.

Examining Social Support Among Black Dementia Caregivers in the Greater Toronto Area

Researcher Deanna Marie Black, RN, MScN, PhD(c) is seeking participants for her study. Eligible participants must be Black family members currently providing unpaid care to a relative living with dementia and residing in the Greater Toronto Area.

Experiences of Bedside Nurses Working in the Greater Toronto Area

Researcher Bojan Stoiljkovic, RN, MN, PhD Candidate, is currently conducting research on the experiences of bedside nurses and the moral suffering they encounter in practice.
