BNLC January Newsletter

Posted on Jan. 31, 2026, 10:48 p.m.

Good day, members!

We are already nearing the end of the first month of 2026, and we’re excited to share highlights from recent events as well as upcoming opportunities you won’t want to miss.

Past Events:
BNLC Volunteers on Christmas Day
During the holiday season on Christmas Day, BNLC Communications ENO Dwight Barrett and Political Policy ENO Donna Lawrence assisted a volunteer group in distributing breakfast to community members in need. It was a meaningful event, and BNLC was proud to support and give back to the community.

Holiday Daily Bread Food Bank Volunteering
Also during the holidays, student ENO James Ehiagwina (who is also the President of York University’s CBNA group), along with other students and volunteers, supported the Daily Bread Food Bank on December 23 and December 30. This marked BNLC’s second year participating in this important initiative, and we are grateful to everyone who volunteered their time and energy.

Dr. Bukola Salami’s “Navigating Postgraduate Studies” Webinar
On Wednesday, January 7, BNLC re-hosted Dr. Bukola Salami’s webinar, Navigating Postgraduate Studies. The event was very well attended and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Participants asked insightful questions, and Dr. Salami generously stayed beyond the scheduled time to address them. The session was filled with inspiring information, practical advice, and valuable guidance for students. Thank you, Dr. Salami, for such an impactful event!
