To all of the remarkable primary care nurses out there,
Happy Nursing Week!
Every year during Nursing Week, we applaud and give gratitude to our primary health care nurses – your role is vital in the operations of primary care in our province. Primary care nurses have a broad range of skills and knowledge to support people of all ages, from birth to end of life, with numerous health-care conditions – this doesn’t go unnoticed.
The past few years, our working environment has been challenging. The pandemic created pressure and angst for those within the health-care system, yet you and other providers continue to step up and provide care to patients.
Now that the World Health Organization has downgraded the pandemic and it is no longer a state of emergency, there are other challenges we brace ourselves for. The lack of funding in health care, specifically primary health care, is atrocious.
So this week, we continue to give our appreciation for all that you do. Our health-care system would crumble without hardworking nurses such as yourselves.
Stay tuned for next week for our spring newsletter.
