Fellow PeriAnesthesia Nurses,

I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very Happy PeriAnesthesia Nurse Awareness Week!  This year, our week runs from February 7-February 13, and I hope that you all have a moment of recognition during this time….whether on a personal or professional level.  These past two years have been incredibly challenging on the nursing profession and from what I am hearing from colleagues across the country, you have all taken the changes and challenges with grace.  This does not come with out a cost to you as a nurse and fellow human being trying to navigate this new world we live in, and my wish for all of you is the ability to refill your cup to overflowing.  Do this by taking a few moments each day to do something that brings you enjoyment and perhaps a bit to others as well.

As we continue into 2022, I am hopeful that we start to see things that we used to consider normal come back to life.  Conferences that will bring us together as a unified group are in the initial stages of planning and I am excited to see what they will offer us, as well as see many familiar faces from conferences past.

Continue to provide the exemplary care to patients and families that you currently do and do it with pride.

“Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, a touch that never hurts.”

~Charles Dickens
