NLN.ON Member Consultation Webcasts: Changes to membership categories and election of Directors

Posted on Oct. 15, 2018, 12:25 p.m.

In support of the NLN strategic themes of Creating One Voice and Collaborative Partnerships, the NLN Board of Directors (BOD) conducted a review of governance best practice and models. Additionally, the NLN BOD also noted the growing movement of greater intra- professional collaboration within the family of nursing across various associations and regulatory bodies across Canada.  The purpose of these sessions is to present proposed changes to the NLN Bylaws to our members for consideration and input.  The proposed changes are in the areas of membership categories (e.g.  changes to Sustaining member and inclusion of all categories of nurses) and election of Board of Directors (e.g. move from regional representation to a skills-based board).

  1. The objectives of these sessions are:
  2. To present the proposed changes to the NLN Bylaws to members.
  3. To obtain feedback from NLN members regarding the proposed changes.
  4. To outline the process and timelines for voting on the proposed Bylaw changes.
