Annual Nursing Week dinner: Advocacy, celebration and recognition

Posted on April 16, 2019, 9:56 p.m.

Dear member,

Registration is now open for our annual Nursing Week dinner on May 8.

During this evening we will be presenting our chapter awards, recognizing nurses in the areas of nursing preceptorship, community health nursing practice, nursing profession, and the Lifetime Achievement Award. Our Quarter Century and Emeritus pin recipients will also be distinguished during this evening.

This year, we are excited to feature a presentation on advocacy by Dr. Annette Bailey, entitled Nurses as Catalysts for Change in Gun Violence. With nurses at the forefront of health care, they are witnesses to the devastation of gun violence on individuals, families and communities. How can nurses be effective in responding to the impact of gun violence? Dr. Bailey will answer this question while exploring the pivotal role of nurses. Dr. Bailey is an associate professor with the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Ryerson University, whose research explores gun violence prevention and survivorship.

When: May 8, 2019, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Where: Hall 3, Millenium Gardens Banquet Centre (20 Polonia Avenue #100, Brampton, Ont.)
