Mississauga Chapter 2024 updates

Nursing Week Dinner Recap

We had an excellent event with our colleagues from Brampton and Mississauga Chapters. Cheryl VanDaalen Smith signed books of her new novel, and we had Zabrina Douglas, a comedian who is also a nurse. The evening was fun, and the food was fine, with strawberry shortcake to top off the meal.

Consultation Reps for Mississauga Chapter deadline May 15, 2024

RNAO Annual General Meeting will be in person June 20-22, 2024. We can have 13  Consultation Representatives for our chapter.  We also plan to hold a resolutions dinner to review the 2024 Resolutions and identify questions, feedback, and follow-up plans. To register, https://myrnao.ca/consult_reps_2024, and when you have registered, ensure you also register for the Annual General Meeting.

As of June 1st, 2022, the Mississauga Chapter became a new Chapter of RNAO.

We are in the process of forming a new group of Executive Networking Officers, a crucial step in shaping the future of our chapter. Your active participation in the nomination process is highly encouraged.

We are fortunate to have dedicated leaders like our President, Paula Manuel (Past President of Peel Chapter), who will continue to serve until the summer of 2024. We are in the process of updating this page with bios for the other team members.   However, we still have some key positions to fill  -a Policy & Political Action officer, Membership officer, and Social Media Communications Officer. Your contribution in these roles will be invaluable.

Our Chapter attended Queen's Park Day and the Assembly of Leaders; as we know, the RN in all roles faces challenges. RNAO continues to lobby for more RNs and ensure the role is fully utilized, and BPSO (creators of BPGs) is 20 years old.

More details about upcoming events and opportunities to be on the executive will be available soon..
