REMINDER: Special Guest Lecture and NRIG AGM Nov. 15

Dear NRIG members, 

Please join us on November 15 from 5:30-9:00 pm for a Special Guest Lecture by Dr. Bernice Downey and NRIG Annual General Meeting at McMaster University Medical Center in Hamilton, ON. 

The Title of Dr. Downey’s Presentation is: ‘As the Crow Flies’: Making Space for Culturally Relevant Research Collaboration with Indigenous People.

Dr. Downey is a woman of Ojibwe and Celtic heritage, a mother and a grandmother. She is a medical anthropologist with research interests in health, health literacy and Indigenous Traditional knowledge and health/research system reform for Indigenous populations. Bernice is currently cross-appointed to the School of Nursing and Department of Psychiatry and Neuro-Behavioural Sciences and is the Indigenous Health Lead for the Faculty of Health Science at mcmaster University.

The evening will include a tapas dinner, guest lecture presentation, acknowledgement of the 2018 NRIG Scholarship and Grant Recipients and business of the Annual General Meeting.

Cost: 

NRIG members: $40

Non-NRIG members: $50
