Hi everyone.
I hope you are all keeping well!
On behalf of RNAO’s Nursing Research Interest Group (NRIG) and CNSA-NCU at Ryerson University, Centennial College and George Brown College, we invite you to attend our virtual celebrations of National Indigenous Peoples’ Day from June 18th- 21st, 2020. We will be celebrating Indigenous nurses and nurse researchers as well honouring the diverse cultures and contributions of Indigenous peoples and those working with Indigenous communities across Canada.
Our virtual celebrations will begin on the 18th of June on all of CNSA-NCU and NRIG social media platforms where we will spotlight nurse researchers who have made significant contributions to Indigenous nursing research. A live panel discussion will take place on the 19th of June from 4-6pm on Zoom where we will explore nursing research with Indigenous communities. This discussion will provide a forum to learn more about culturally safe research with Indigenous people, from the perspectives of Indigenous nurse researchers. On the 20th of June we will highlight our appreciation towards various Indigenous organizations supporting nurses, nurse researchers, and nursing students. We hope to share virtual resources that will help us provide more culturally safe care for Indigenous people. Lastly on the 21st of June, CNSA-NCU will acknowledge National Indigenous Peoples’ Day and National Indigenous History Month with a special note of gratitude to NRIG and all involved with the virtual celebration.
