Welcome to all new and renewed RETNIG members, as we all start this new membership year as RNAO and IG supporters!
This RNAO membership year will take us into 2020, that magic year that I am sure we have all looked to as the time when various matters would be resolved, issues addressed, and society would be amazingly advanced. We may have thought it represented a clear vision. On the eve of this ominous year, I am sure we are seeing that 2020 will be what we make it. It is in our hands- our choice. It reminds us that this is the same for all phases in our lives and in particular the phase of retirement...(not sure yet that we like the word, however, as they say "come up with a better one or just make it work"). We are excited to have many members and growing in our IG, and are sure many of you have entered or are approaching retirement with a variety of preconceived notions leading to feelings ranging from trepidation, to joy, to relief, to a sense of loss and or sadness. All these feelings are legitimate and are part of what the "retiree" may feel, and what many of us have all felt. However, at the end of the day, this phase of our work life is definitely what we make it. It may be a time of pause, then a refocus on a new endeavor. It may be a much needed change in lifestyle. It may be a time for family or friends. It may be all of the above and more. We are here for you all to be a point of sharing, networking, exploration and growth. We will help you renew, refresh, refocus and even rediscover fun!! Happy fall, happy RNAO and RETNIG membership, and happy retirement or pre-retirement to all.
