Posted on Aug. 3, 2021, 10:04 a.m.

Each year, from August 1 to 7, World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated around the world to raise awareness of the importance and need for breastfeeding. The World Health Organization recognizes breastmilk as the best source of nutrition for infants, but breastfeeding can be a challenging, confusing, and overwhelming experience. As pediatric nurses, having knowledge about breastfeeding can help us better support breastfeeding individuals and babies in various pediatric settings. Keri Durocher is a Registered Nurse and one of our PedNIG communication officers. Her PhD research focuses on hospital breastfeeding support. In this episode of the Pediatric Nursing Hot Topics series, Keri teaches us about breastfeeding support in pediatric settings.
