Internationally educated nurses - Integration strategies, Oct. 24, 7-8:30 p.m. ET

Join the International Nursing Interest Group (INIG) and the Nursing Students of Ontario (NSO) on Thursday, Oct. 24, 7 – 8:30 p.m. ET for an informative session designed for internationally educated nurses (IENs) looking to navigate their careers in Canada. This event will be offered virtually through Zoom. The keynote speaker for the event will be Rola El Moubadder, RN, BScN, MQM.

Rola is a program manager of CARE Centre for IENs – an organization that supports IENs pre- and post- arrival to relaunch their career in Canada. Rola, an expert in the field, will share key strategies for a successful transition into the Canadian health-care system. Rola brings 25 years of broad range experience in health-care quality, clinical informatics and nursing education. Rola is committed to supporting nurses nationally and internationally through mentoring, influencing policy, and improving the quality of health-care services.

Topics that will be covered include: 

  • navigating licensure requirements
  • strategies for workplace integration
  • career pathways for IENs
  • CARE Centre's various services to support IENs (e.g. professional development opportunities)
