Please join us on March 6, 2023, from 6–7:30 p.m. ET. Julie McShane will be presenting on the topic:“Creating an IEN Intern Program – The Unity Health Toronto Experience.”
Julie McShane RN, MN is the Evidence-Based Nursing Practice Lead at Unity Health Toronto (UHT) and provides leadership for Ministry of Health workforce programs. Julie has worked for over a decade in nursing professional practice in both the community and hospital sector and has held previous roles in nursing research and as a CVICU staff nurse at St. Michael’s Hospital for many years. Her passion for nursing strategy and health human resources initiatives were sparked during her time at the Nursing Health Services Research Unit (now defunded) at U of T.
Before returning to UHT in 2021, Julie was the manager of professional practice for the surgery and arthritis programs at UHN. Julie has a BNSc from Queen’s University and a master's of nursing from the University of Toronto. Her experiences with IENs are informed in part by her own experiences as a new Ontario nursing graduate, unable to find employment in Canada in the early 90s, and beginning her nursing career in Texas.
All are invited to attend.
