The opioid crisis in northern Ontario - the forgotten epidemic
Dear Nipissing chapter members,
We would like to invite you to attend an opioid harm reduction education day hosted by the Nipissing University School of Nursing in partnership with the RNAO Nipissing chapter. This two-day event will include workshops on how to use simulation to facilitate learning, an outdoor simulation experience and a knowledge exchange.
North Bay is the city in Ontario the second-most affected by the opioid crisis. This workshop provides an opportunity to learn through simulation in a natural setting how to respond to persons with suspected overdose as well as administration of naloxone, principles of harm reduction and interprofessional teamwork. We are also holding a knowledge exchange to provide critical discussion of the opioid crisis with the local and wider context.
