Dear RNAO Hamilton Members,

As Nursing Week 2026 comes to a close, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who joined us in celebrating the incredible contributions of nurses across Hamilton and beyond.

This year's Nursing Week provided opportunities to connect, advocate, celebrate and recognize the outstanding nurses and nursing students who make a difference every day in our profession and communities.

Pottery & Politics
We were pleased to host our inaugural Pottery & Politics event at Play with Clay, bringing nurses together for meaningful conversations about health care, advocacy, and the future of nursing while enjoying a creative evening of pottery painting.

A special thank you to MPP Robin Lennox for joining us and engaging in thoughtful discussions about the issues that matter most to nurses and the communities we serve.

Nursing Appreciation Dinner
We were delighted to celebrate Nursing Week with our Nursing Appreciation Dinner at East Side Mario's in Dundas. The evening provided an opportunity for nurses, nursing students and health-care professionals to network, share experiences, and recognize the remarkable impact nurses have across all sectors of health care.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Findlay Law for generously sponsoring this event and helping us make this celebration possible.

We would also like to thank Smart Pilates Burlington for their generous donation of Pilates classes for our award recipients. Your support helped make our recognition program even more meaningful.

Nursing Excellence Awards
Congratulations to our 2026 Nursing Excellence Award recipients:
Excellence in Patient Care Award - Meghan Flemming
Emerging Nurse Leader Award - Sikhulekile Owusu
Kindest Coworker Award - Megan McCreath
