Covid-19 Vaccine in Algoma: Let's build community immunity together!

Posted on June 15, 2021, 10:47 a.m.

The RNAO Algoma Chapter would like to remind and encourage you to book your Covid-19 vaccine.

We would also like to encourage you to become a vaccine champion by sharing credible vaccine information and helping those in your family or neighbourhood to access upcoming clinics (i.e., help with online registration, book transportation, etc.). We are in this together.

Each dose of Covid-19 vaccine administered across Algoma helps us better protect our community, especially those most vulnerable. As healthcare providers and nurses, you are among the most trusted professionals to share credible vaccine information with your clients, families, and communities to help them make an informed decision.

FIRST DOSE clinics are still available in Algoma! You are able to book directly online for an upcoming appointment, or pre-register youth 12-17 years and their family members to have a group of appointments scheduled together in June.

Many GFL Memorial Gardens and district clinic appointments are available throughout June, as early as this week.

A reminder that those 12-17 years of age are only eligible for Pfizer clinics, as this is the only approved vaccine for this age group. Those 18 years or older are able to book in Moderna or Pfizer clinics.

Please continue following all public health measures (i.e., masking, physical distancing, etc.), even if you are partially or fully vaccinated, to ensure we prevent the spread of Covid-19 and protect those who have yet to vaccinate in our community.

Thank you for all the important work you continue to do for our communities.

Stay healthy and safe.
