Nurses' Voices Needed For QPOR Meetings: The RN Understaffing Crisis. Please Join Us!

Posted on Nov. 17, 2021, 3:33 p.m.

Hello Region 7 members!

Queen's Park on the Road (QPOR) is underway.

As has been for the past eight years, RNAO members will meet with MPPs in Region 7 to discuss critical issues in public health policy and nursing care.  In the past, these meetings have included discussions on a wide range of topics, from social determinants of health to the ongoing opioid crisis. These meetings allow nurses to build positive working relationships with political leaders across the province, influence healthcare policy and actively lobby for equitable healthcare for all.

This year has been extremely challenging for the nursing profession and our plights have been highlighted by the ongoing pandemic. As such, RNAO is using QPOR as a platform to address the current RN Understaffing Crisis. If you have similar concerns or have been impacted by this issue in your workplace, please join us as we meet virtually over Zoom with MPPs across the province.

We have a few meetings scheduled over the next few weeks, and would love to have you share your experience with nursing understaffing

Hon. Paul Calandra, Friday at 11:30AM.

MPP Suze Morrison, Monday Nov 22 at 11AM

Please email us at erinmcp@gmail.com and emily.soares@hotmail.ca to share your interest.

This year, more than ever, it is critical that we bring nursing voices to the table as we advocate for our patients, our communities, and our profession.

Take care and stay safe,
