RNAO Region 7 QPOR - Nurses' Voices Needed to Discuss the RN Human Resource crisis

Posted on Nov. 1, 2021, 10:35 a.m.

Hello Region 7 members!

Queen's Park on the Road (QPOR) is just around the corner.

As has been for the past eight years, RNAO members will meet with MPPs in Region 7 to discuss critical issues in public health policy and nursing care.  In the past, these meetings have included discussions on a wide range of topics, from social determinants of health to the ongoing opioid crisis. These meetings allow nurses to build positive working relationships with political leaders across the province, influence healthcare policy and actively lobby for equitable healthcare for all.

This year has been extremely challenging for the nursing profession and our plights have been highlighted by the ongoing pandemic. As such, RNAO is using QPOR as a platform to address the current RN Human Resource Crisis. If you have similar concerns or have been impacted by this issue in your workplace, please join us as we meet virtually over Zoom with MPPs across the province.

Please email us at erinmcp@gmail.com and emily.soares@hotmail.ca to share your interest and let us know the riding in which you work or live. Once we schedule the meeting (usually 30-60min), we will contact you with the details. This year, more than ever, it is critical that we bring nursing voices to the table as we advocate for our patients, our communities, and our profession.

Take care and stay safe,
