Posted on Dec. 12, 2023, 3:25 p.m.

We want to invite you to a special speaker presentation in collaboration with the Region 10. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Rosemary Ricciardelli, and the title of her presentation is "Moral harm, distress, and injury: Examining the experiences of nursing in Canada".

Dr. Ricciardelli is a Professor (PhD, Sociology) at Memorial University in St. John's, Newfoundland, and has been elected to the Royal Society of Canada. Her research centers on evolving understandings of gender, vulnerabilities, risk, moral harm, and experiences and issues within different facets of the criminal justice and health-care systems. As a sex and gender researcher, her interests lay in the social health, identity construction, and lived experiences of individuals. She leads a longitudinal study on the mental health and well-being experiences of correctional officers employed by Correctional Services Canada and has researched nursing for over two decades.

After the keynote presentation, we will be having an interactive session with Emma Quinn and Danica Kaplan, executive members for the Mental Health Nurses Interest Group

We will finish the evening with an engaging Q&A session where people can connect with the keynote speaker and each other.

All members and non-members are invited to attend this presentation on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024 from 7–9 p.m.
