Share your story: Nursing stories from the pandemic - and upcoming AGM

Posted on Jan. 24, 2023, 10:55 a.m.

Dear Middlesex-Elgin member,

In response to our meetings with Middlesex-Elgin MPPs, we invite you to anonymously share your nursing stories from the COVID-19 pandemic related to your working conditions, how you’re feeling and coping, the hardships you’ve faced, and how your experiences are impacting your practice.

Please share the details of a specific incident or a gradual change throughout the pandemic and its impact on you.

We hope to share the collection of stories we receive with local MPPs and reporters to bring awareness to the current issues in nursing.

Please submit your story online by Friday, Feb. 24, 2023 via Google forms: https://forms.gle/PmJJBpB4UBaorsVG9

Please note: This form is anonymous – we do not require you to provide any personal information. However, at the end of the form, we invite you to provide your contact information only if you are willing to speak with us as a follow-up or to be connected with reporters. This is completely voluntary – we welcome and appreciate all stories.

Spread the word: non-RNAO members, RPNs, PSWs, allied health workers, individuals who received care and their family members are also welcome to submit stories.

We'll also discuss this story collection project at our chapter’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), coming up soon!  As a friendly reminder, the AGM is happening on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 (7:30 – 9 p.m. ET) at Palasad South (141 Pine Valley Blvd, London, Ont.) in the Lebowski Lounge.

If you plan on attending, we’d love to hear your stories in person!

Register for the AGM now: https://myrnao.ca/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=1355

And – as always – if you have any questions, please contact us at middlesexelgin.rnao@gmail.com

Stay safe and healthy,

Middlesex-Elgin chapter’s executive team
