Reminder - CHNIG Award Applications close March 1st

Happy January CHNIG Members!


It's hard to believe the first month of 2019 is almost behind us.  With these chilly temperatures and snow filled days, it is the perfect time to work on your application for a CHNIG Award!  As part of your membership in CHNIG, you are eligible for financial support for professional development. 
The following awards and bursaries are available on a yearly basis:

1) Community Health Nurses’ Initiatives Group (CHNIG) Education Awards 
This year, CHNIG is offering 2 educational awards to Registered Nurses pursuing advanced education.  The successful applicants are registered nurses currently working in, or intending to work in, community health nursing.  The individuals must have strong academic records and be members of CHNIG for at least three years. The deadline for all supporting documents is March 1st, 2019 at 1700h.  The successful recipients will be announced and presented with a $1000.00 award at the CHNIG Annual General Meeting.

2) Community Health Nurses’ Initiatives Group (CHNIG) Research Awards 
This year, CHNIG is offering 2 research awards to Registered Nurses pursuing research in community health nursing at the masters or doctoral levels.  The awards may also be given to community health nurses, who wish to undertake research in a clinical setting and have been members of CHNIG for at least three years.  The deadline for all supporting documents is March 1st, 2019 at 1700h.  The successful recipients will be announced and presented with a $1000.00 award at the CHNIG Annual General Meeting.

3) Beatrice McDonough Award of Excellence in Community Health Nursing 2019 
Do you know a community health nurse in practice who has demonstrated expertise in practice, demonstrated professionalism, leadership and good interpersonal skills?  If so, then nominate this nurse today for the Beatrice McDonough Award of Excellence in Community Health Nursing 2019.  Every year, CHNIG recognizes the exemplary clinical practice of a community health nurse. The nominee is a community health nurse providing nursing services to individuals, families, communities or populations, and must be a current member of CHNIG.  The deadline for all supporting documents is March 1st, 2019 at 1700h.
