Learning Objective: To explore strategies for CHNs in leadership development, across all levels of practice, focusing on critically examining the impacts of colonialism, shifting practices to embrace principles of cultural safety, and developing transformative approaches to advancing Indigenous health equity within healthcare systems. Presenter Bio: Cheyenne Joseph, RN, MPH, DrPH (c) Doctoral Candidate Dalla Lana School of Public Health University of Toronto Cheyenne Joseph is a Registered Nurse and Certified Community Health Nurse, who specializes in public health and health systems. She is a member of L’sitkuk First Nation in Mi'kma'ki, home of the Peace of Friendship Treaties. She lives with her husband and kids near his home community of Elsipogtog First Nation also in Mi'kma'ki. She holds a Master's degree in Public Health and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in public health (DrPH) at the University of Toronto. She has held several senior health leadership and administrative positions throughout her 20+ year nursing career. She is currently Director, Health at the Assembly of First Nation.
