Hello CHNIG members,
We are invited to a discussion session for our members with the Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA) on the future of public health. Over the next few months, the OPHA team will be developing a submission outlining recommendations for the future of public health. Their goal is to include the diverse perspectives of those in the field of community and public health. As a constituent society of OPHA, we are invited to a discussion session to contribute to this process. This session will begin with a few thought-provoking questions, followed by an open discussion. There will be the opportunity to respond verbally, via chat function, and through quick polls.
Please attend our discussion session on the future of public health, Wednesday, October 27, 12-1pm by REGISTERING HERE. The Zoom link will be provided in the registration confirmation email.
If you are not able to attend on October 27th and are an OPHA member, please note they will also be holding a members-only forum on this topic, Wednesday, November 3, 12-1pm.
We greatly appreciate your participation in this project. With the increased attention on public health over the past few years, there is a unique window of opportunity to amplify the importance of funding and building a resilient public health system, and draw attention to the increasing inequities in our communities and critical public health issues that have been impacted by COVID-19. We hope that through capturing the feedback of those on the frontlines of public health and others, and providing a list of recommendations, together we can help shape the future of public health in Ontario.
Thank you for your consideration,
CHNIG & OPHA
