For new graduates and new RN hires in Public Health, Mohawk College is offering an online course, NRSG10132: Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, to further your preparation to work in public health nursing, and achieve one course towards a proposed PHN post-graduate certificate.

Course Description

Examine the public health sciences related to infectious diseases prevention and control, and emergency preparedness and response, taking into consideration legislation and public health policy in Canada, and apply these concepts and approaches to the public health nursing roles and responsibilities. Proof of current RN registration or graduate nurse registration (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario certificate of registration in the Temporary Class) with the respective provincial/territory regulator is required to register.
