The Ontario Campus Health Nursing Association (OCHNA) became an official provincial RNAO interest group in 2015. OCHNA was founded to represent the strong voice of registered nurses working within the post-secondary campus setting throughout Ontario.  The members of this group are part of  unique interdisciplinary teams  and  play integral roles in providing on campus health care services. Campus health nurses carry a vast scope of practice and blend principles of primary care nursing and community nursing to support population health and direct care needs of students.  OCHNA acts as a valuable community of practice that shares related health information across Ontario post-secondary campuses.

Together, we work with the RNAO and our surrounding communities to discuss current campus health care trends, healthy community strategies and provide professional growth and development opportunities for our membership. We strive to be an integral section of the RNAO through our participation in the organization, advocacy efforts, and contributions to health policy.

OCHNA will collaborate with established post-secondary associations such as the Ontario University and College Health Association (OUCHA) and the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS) on common issues related to Campus Health trends, healthy campus communities, and relevant policies and  represents  nursing perspectives.

OCHNA is interested in forming collaborations with other RNAO Interest Groups to support relevant initiatives and enhance knowledge translation within our scope of practice.

The Executive Board will be decided upon based on interest from the membership. Electronic voting process will be used in the case of multiple candidates.
