Cost of interest group: $20; free for undergraduate nursing students

OHNIG is a provincial interest group within the RNAO and acts as the voice and forum for the specialized area of the occupational health nursing profession. OHNIG offers a network of professional resources, guides, networking and support in the occupational health nurse specialty practice.

Occupational health nurses are dedicated to excellence in ethical practice, lifelong learning, and fulfilling the standards of the specialized practice of occupational health care for our clients, the employees in any workplace. Occupational health nurses recognize the need to establish interdisciplinary alliances with nursing colleagues and health care professionals to ensure quality and effective health care systems for all workers and their families.

OHNIG Bursary Announcement:

To Celebrate Nursing Week, the OHNIG executive is pleased to announce that we will be offering bursaries to members of the Occupational Health Nursing Interest Group. This year, we will be giving out two bursaries to practicing members and two bursaries to an undergraduate nursing student or new graduate for a maximum of $500 per bursary/person.  The purpose of the bursary is to assist OHNIG members to pay for educational expenses (i.e. conference fees, workshops, continuing education, etc.) that support and further advance their Occupational Health Nursing career. For students, the bursary will cover the costs for any nursing-related opportunities outside of their schooling and tuition expenses. 
 

Guidelines: 
 

  • Must be an RNAO-OHNIG member during the completion of your course and at the time of the application.
  • Must have attended and/or completed education related to Occupational Health Nursing, Health and Safety or Disability Management in the form of courses, workshops, or conferences between September 1, 2025, to Sept 30, 2026.
  • Must submit proof of expenses, proof of membership (found by logging into RNAO's website), and proof of attendance/completion.
  • Email receipts and a photo of yourself to [email protected]
  • Bursaries will only be awarded for education that aligns with RNAO's missions and value.
  • May be asked to share knowledge with fellow members at a future event or as a written summary and or possibly be a guest speaker for a future event.
  • Application deadline is November 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
