Recognition of local colleagues for Nursing Week - We need nominations!

Posted on March 24, 2023, 9:29 p.m.

Dear member,

We need your help! As you may be aware, Nursing Week is fast approaching (May 8 – 14, 2023) and we need to ensure RNAO members' voices are heard to advance the profession and improve Ontario’s health system!

Waterloo Chapter is joining RNAO home office’s initiative to turn its new Nursing Career Pathways report (https://rnao.ca/media/3828/download?inline) into action by celebrating five colleagues in our chapter who stand out for their love of and commitment to nursing and who are worthy of acknowledgement and celebration by their peers.

Are you that person (and want to be a part of that initiative) or do you know a fellow group member who should be?

Send us a nomination by Thursday, March 30 or sooner if you can. Note: Please ensure the nominee knows you’re submitting their name and they are willing to participate.

To nominate yourself or a nursing colleague within Waterloo Chapter, please respond to this email and answer the following questions (150 words or less per response):

  1. What is the nominee's name?
  2. What is the nominee’s practice role? (Examples: student, RN, NP, educator, manager, researcher, coordinator)
  3. What sector of the system do they work in? (Examples: hospital, primary care, home and community care, other community, long-term care, retirement home, college/university, government/professional association, other)
  4. Why should this nurse be profiled? (what qualities/skills do they bring to those they serve, how do they exemplify the values of RNAO and nursing?)
  5. Any additional relevant details to add?

If you have any questions, please reach out.

Thanks,

Waterloo Chapter executive team
