Happy Nursing Week from the RNAO Halton Chapter!

Dear Halton Chapter members,

It is with great appreciation that we recognize all the excellent work each and every one of you do in caring for both our community within your various work settings, as well as supporting the nursing profession and RNAO. Each and every day you are all making a significant difference in the lives of those you care for.

We are proud to stand beside each of you as advocates, communicators, leaders, innovators, and champions of Best Practice Guidelines. Your dedication not only elevates the profession—it transforms lives in our communities.

Nursing Week holds extra special meaning this year as it begins on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Her legacy laid the foundation for evidence-based practice, compassion, and courage in care—values that still guide us today. In addition, this year we celebrate in a significantly memorable way in acknowledging RNAO’s 100 years.

As we reflect on our journey and look toward the future, we are reminded of how far nursing has come, and how powerful our unified voice can be. Together, we carry the torch Florence lit and keep it burning bright.

This week, may we come together united to celebrate the heart and soul of healthcare—nurses. On behalf of the Halton Chapter, we extend our sincere gratitude and best wishes to every nurse serving in the Halton Region and beyond.

If you do get a chance, please visit the following link to join this event in celebration of National Nursing Week hosted by our very own local author, professor and public health nurse Cheryl Van Daalen-Smith.
