RNAO Halton chapter: Cakes and Convos networking event

Posted on Oct. 18, 2018, 11:34 a.m.

 Dear member,

RNAO Halton chapter would like to invite all nursing students and new graduates to come out to the Burlington Public Library  (2331 New St. Burlington Ont.) , on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 for our annual networking and skills building event (featuring snacks and dessert!). Our event will be held in the library's Frank Rose Room from 7 to 9 p.m. This year’s event will include a budgeting and financial basics presentation by a RN turned financial planner.

Also, this year, the RNAO Halton chapter would like to recognize two nursing students who demonstrate leadership skills by using their voices to advocate for issues relevant to nursing as well as enacting the goals of the chapter. This year, the chapter focused on encouraging nurses towards evidence-informed practice as well as, creating awareness about the determinants of health and their impact on the human condition. If you know of any nursing students who centred their practice development in these areas, please feel free to nominate them for the Nursing Student Recognition Award

Please write a 250-word reflection on why your nominated candidate is deserving of the chapter's Nursing Student Recognition Award. In your email, please include 1. name of the nominee

2. name of school currently being attended

3. current year in program

Please save your reflection of the candidate's nomination using a PDF version and then forward to rchahal@mcmaster.ca. The deserving candidates will receive $100 gift and a certificate of recognition. The winner will be announced at the  Cakes and Convos event.

Note: This is a free event. Space is limited, please register in advance.
