Dear member,

Please join us on Nov. 7, 2018 from 6 – 9 p.m. for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) with a special keynote presentation by Sue Faber, a political advocate on the issue of Lyme disease. The event will be held at the Caterina's Room in Le Dome Banquet Hall (1173 North Service Rd. E.) in Oakville, Ont. Chapter members with 25 and 40 years of regular membership will be recognized.

The presentation is entitled Lyme Disease – Tiny Bite, Huge Problem

Sue Faber is a married, mother of three daughters, residing in Ontario, Canada.  She is trained as a registered nurse with a background in ER nursing as well as case management in the community. She is a co-founder of the not-for-profit organization LymeHope along with colleague Jennifer Kravis. Sue will be speaking about her evolving work with LymeHope, a not-for-profit organization which she co-founded in 2017. Sue will highlight some of the work involved in advocacy and education and will review the complexities of Lyme disease – from persistence of infection to inadequate Canadian testing, evidence highlighting maternal-fetal transmission, concerns of sexual transmission and blood supply safety – all of which were identified in the RNAO resolution which was carried at the AGM in Toronto this past May. It is Sue’s deep desire to engage with fellow nurses, physicians and front-line health-care professionals to address the complexities of Lyme disease together with an evidence-based, patient-focused approach.

A hot buffet dinner will be served.
